Founded in 2001 by Henry Au-Yeung, Grotto Fine Art is dedicated exclusively to contemporary Hong Kong art. The name “Grotto”, defined as a picturesque cave, is well chosen as Hong Kong artists are often under-represented, hidden behind the commercial facade of the city. The gallery features paintings, sculpture, prints, photography, mixed-media and conceptual installation pieces. Grotto Fine Art also actively engages in curatorial projects with touring exhibitions in an effort to foster the understanding of Hong Kong art, and works with corporate and private collections, placing works in museums worldwide. In 2021, the gallery opened a second exhibition space in Shau Kei Wan.
