As MAN Fung Yi stated, she is“…making metal lattice in the form of weaving silk threads to construct fragile yet powerful strength. Moreover, it also deconstructs the boundary between inside and outside- in the way of poetic and introspective expression. I make starry pattern of holes as in the act of “embroidering” to create a comfortable and weightless feeling. Light penetrates and interacts with the artwork which creates fascinating shadows.” These years, inspired by her research on the Chinese ancient costumes and religious garments, she skillfully uses her own worn clothing to represent her expression of the body, memory and gender.
