wamono art was founded in 2016 in Hong Kong and Tokyo. The name “wamono” is derived from the words “wa” (meaning Japan) and “mono” (meaning piece/physical object/oneness). True to its name, wamono art focuses on showcasing emerging and established contemporary Japanese artists, highlighting their ambitions, experiences, philosophies, and aesthetics. The unique essence of these artists is captured and represented in their original art pieces. The director, Noriko Nakagawa, has lived and worked in Hong Kong for over ten years and is passionate about introducing Japanese arts and crafts to the world beyond Japan.
