Founded in the heart of Tokyo, in 1967, Whitestone Gallery has been a pioneer in the Japanese art gallery scene. Whitestone opened Karuizawa New Art Museum in Karuizawa in 2012, as a rare form of private museums in Japan. In the past five years, Whitestone has set up multiple galleries in Hong Kong and Taiwan, with Hong Kong as Whitestone gallery ’s headquarter. Situated over two floors at H Queen’s art complex, home to many other international art galleries, designed and supervised by the renowned Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, the keen aesthetics render Whitestone’s philosophy and vision for exhibiting modern and contemporary art. Whitestone’s mission has been clear from the start, to support established Japanese artists and promote young talents, while simultaneously bringing a new approach to the conventional Japanese art scene.
